Features

A sophisticated system incorporating both financial and operational management, REMAS remote management system is an essential application tool for terminal operators. Based on experience from a large installed base of terminals and management systems, REMAS has been designed to manage all terminal types regardless of the payment means supported by the terminal. Payment means coins, chip cards, credit cards and electronic purse.

 

Customer Benefits

Efficient repair: Repair functions to assist users in detecting and repairing a fault. Specifically REMAS will detect faults, and allow the user to judge the urgency of repair, delegate the repair work and monitor the execution.

 

Equipment management

REMAS is designed to allow the user to group terminals according to specific needs in a powerful and flexible way. It manages each terminal’s attributes and configuration, including user defined characteristics on a terminal by terminal basis if needed, type of location, level of revenues, etc... Also, REMAS updates the number and location of existing and new terminals, manages the operational parameters, including tariff tables and cryptographic keys, and handles the software download relevant to each terminal, modules.

 

Planning & performance monitoring

Planning is a key feature of REMAS, assisting operators in determining where terminals should be installed (based on population density), which location needs additional terminals, optimal tariffs, as well as end-user behavior patterns related to payment means, call destinations, sales trend, etc… In addition, REMAS’s performance monitoring function measures the performances of each terminal in term of profitability, the mean repair time and terminal availability rate.

 

Real-time signaling of faults

REMAS offers several choices to signal faults, configurable depending on date and time of appearance or urgency.The faults may be routed to the REMAS user interface, local remote printers, fax, GSM-SMS or E-mail addresses.

 

Terminal lifecycle management

With REMAS, users can maintain a comprehensive list of terminal’s past and present status:  commissioning, decommissioning, installed but not reporting, etc…

 

Payment Means supported

REMAS offers several functions to enable cash and cashless payment on terminal: Coins (multi-currency); Pre-Paid chip card payment functions, allowing the user to define black lists and to browse the card transactions; Electronic Purse payment and online reload with Banks; Credit Card authorization and billing, either  online or off-line with Banks; Mobile Payment.

 

Client-Server architecture

REMAS is based on a client-server architecture.

In addition, REMAS is equipped to communicate with other systems through industry standards such as: TCP/IP; PSTN; ISDN; GSM.

REMAS software can be customized according to specific customer requirements, type of terminals and local environment. Protocol interfaces REMAS supports various protocols for communication with: terminals; multimedia Kiosk; smart card reade; payphones: NEW IPM TEL payphone range, specific or payphones from other suppliers; vending Machines. 

New protocols can be easily added to REMAS's modular software architecture.

 

Maintenance

REMAS maintenance agreement includes: a hot line for technical support provided by qualified IPM system support engineers; Efficient troubleshooting through remote logging into the customer’s system (handled from the technical support centre); New releases or upgrades of the licensed software; premium services for newly available system developments.
